Como
escoteiro sempre tive o sonho de ajudar o mundo e de certa forma deixar uma
história como Baden-Powell, o fundador do escotismo, um dia deixou. Não sou de
guerra e como bom seguidor de B.-P me preparei para a Guerra da Paz.
A PREPARAÇÃO
Quando
jovem 20 anos de idade, impulsionado por este sonho, entrei nas discussões da
Agenda 21 da juventude, me tornando um dos representantes de renome nacional e
um nome a ser enviado ao encontro mundial, nesta época minha amada mãe me
proporcionou um curso intensivo de inglês, onde em 3 meses aprendi a base do
meu segundo idioma, não fui para San Francisco representar o Brasil, mas o
primeiro passo rumo às Nações Unidas foi dado.
Depois
disto comecei a me interessa com os problema do mundo, me tornei radio amador e
fiz muitas amizades ao redor do globo. Aprendi a apreciar as diferentes
culturas e aprender sempre que possível algo novo. Comecei a viajar pela
américa e a conhecer os latinos. Sempre preferi assistir canais de
documentários aos canais normais, viajava ao ver programas sobre outras
culturas e lugares.
Por fim,
dentro da minha carreira profissional, me qualifiquei em algumas áreas que e
proporcionaram viagens e maiores conhecimentos.
Foi
quando eu decidi completar os meus estudos em inglês, como uma pessoa
hiperativa e proativa, optei por estudo on line, escolhi uma das melhores e
iniciei as aulas, todos os dias dedicava cerca de 2 horas de estudo do idioma
inglês, isto por 8 meses, momento que apareceu o edital sobre a seleção.
O EDITAL
Ao ler o
edital me deparei com algo moderno e bem direcionado, não buscava diplomas e
sim capacitação, como nunca havia terminado nenhum curso de inglês, mas tinha
experiência como tradutor, pois sempre acreditei em meu potencial e com o pouco
que sabia me virava bem.
Fiz minha
inscrição e me deparei com a pequena procura por parte dos oficiais e uma menor
ainda de praças.
A SELEÇÃO
No dia da
seleção me encontrei com policiais de vários estados, oficiais e praças, alguns
que já haviam participado, outros como eu que estavam lá pela primeira vez. Me
senti nervoso, provas me deixam muito ansioso.
Fomos
recebidos muito bem pelos oficiais do IGPM/COTER, um café da manhã excelente e
uma conversa amistosa, isto diminuiu um pouco meu nervosismo.
Até este
momento só havia recebido dicas de pessoas amigas que já haviam passado por tal
seleção.
Entramos
na sala e recebemos um texto para ler em inglês, 10 perguntas sobre o texto e
folhas para anotações. O Coronel Ronald da IGPM explicou que todos os testes
seriam feitos sobre o mesmo fato e um complementava o outro.
Depois
que terminamos , fomos submetidos ao teste de audição, onde ouvíamos uma
narrativa sobre o mesmo fato narrado na parte escrita e em seguida uma
entrevista de algumas das partes da mesma história e tínhamos 21 questões para
responder.
Este
momento foi o de maior tensão, pois tínhamos pouco tempo, no final aguardamos a
resposta. A resposta veio e vi vários amigos não se qualificando, dos mais de
30 que se apresentaram, éramos naquela hora somente 8 policiais e dentre este
somente eu como praça.
A seleção
continuou no dia seguinte, fizemos a prova de direção, com o marruás do
exército fizemos balizas e pista, este ponto foi diversão, pois como instrutor
de pilotagem policial, aquilo era diversão.
Por fim o
teste de tiro, onde aparentemente é fácil, mas me fez quase falhar, apesar de
estar há anos com minha pistola, nunca tinha feito nenhum teste de tiro, o que
me fez não agrupar os tiros e ainda errar um.
A APROVAÇÃO
Após os
testes, a felicidade veio, a aprovação nos testes de seleção e inicio de mais
uma fase, o EAD e o estágio presencial, que irei contar mais adiante.
Neste
episódio vi que o primeiro a colocar barreiras somos nós mesmos, muitos dizem
que somente oficiais podem participar de missões de paz, mas vi que eu também
posso e se eu posso outros podem, basta deixar de lado os preconceitos e seguir
em frente.

Leia sempre todo o edital e procure pessoas que já participaram da seleção, se preferir só enviar perguntas por aqui.
Deciding a new mission
I
still remember the day that I decided to start a new path in my life, but
before this day several things happened and here remember.
As
a Boy Scout always aimed with helping the world and somehow leave a story like
Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, one day did. I am not a warrior and like
a good follower of B. P- I’m prepared for the War of Peace.
PREPARATION
When
I was 20 years old, propelled by this dream, discussing the Agenda 21 of youth about environment, I
became one of the representatives of Brazil and a person to be sent to the
world meeting, at this time my beloved mother gave me an English course, where
in three months I made the base of my second language, I have not been in San
Francisco to represent Brazil, but the first step towards to UN was given.
After
that I started to care about the challenges of the world, became radio amateur
and get many friends around the globe. Learned to appreciate different
cultures and learn something new, whenever possible. I started traveling around
America and to know about Latin America. Always I preferred watching
documentaries, wondering about the programs about other cultures and places.
Finally,
in my professional career, I qualified in some areas and provided travel and
better knowledge.
In
this time I decided to complete my studies in English as a hyperactive and
proactive person, I chose to study online, I chose one of the best English
schools and started classes every day devoted about two hours to study the
English language, during 8 months, when the announcement about the selection appeared.
THE EDITAL
When
reading the public notice I could see something modern and well directed, not
seeking diplomas, because I didn’t quit any English course, but had experience
as a translator, because I always believed in my potential I worked pretty good
.
I
made my application and saw a small demand from official and a still smaller NCO’s
demand.
SELECTION
On
the selection I encontered with officers from several states, officers and NCO,
some who had did the selection, others like me who were there first time. I
felt nervous, evaluations makes me very anxious.
We
were greeted very well by officers of the IGP / COTER with an excellent
breakfast and a friendly conversation, that my nervousness decreases just a little
bit.
At
that time only received tips from friends who had been tips and highlights of
the selection.
We got
in the room and received a composite to read and 10 questions about the text
and a sheet of paper for notes. Colonel Ronald from IGP explained that all
tests would be done on the same fact and complemented each other.
After
we finished, we were subjected to the hearing test, where we listened to a
story about the same event narrated in the composite and then an interview of
some persons of the same story and had to answer 21 questions.
This
moment was my greatest tension, because we had just few minutes after that we await
the answer. The answer came and I could saw several friends not qualifying, the
most of 30 that started we were at that time only eight police and from this I
only me like sergeant.
The
evaluations continued the next day, we did the driving test, with “marruás” did
beacons and track, this point was fun because like a driving instructor, it was
fun.
Finally
the shooting test, which is apparently easy, but it made me almost crash,
despite being for years with my pistol, had never done any test firing, which
made me not group the shots and still miss one.
THE APPROVAL
After
the tests, the happiness came, the approval of the selection and start another
phase, On line classes and the stage, which will tell later.
In
this episode I saw that the first to put barriers is ourselves, many police
officers says that only officers can participate in peace missions, but I know
if I can do it, anyone can we need to discard the preconceptions and walk forward.
